Vanden Bout received the 2019 Inclusive Leader Award from GlobalMindED, a national nonprofit organization that aims to improve education and employment opportunities for students who are in the first generation in their family to attend college.

Allen Bard, a professor of chemistry at The University of Texas at Austin, was announced as the winner of the 2019 King Faisal International Prize in Science.

Orhi Esarte Palomero was presented his award certificate by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain.

Davarajan Thirumalai, a professor of chemistry, received the Irving Langmuir Prize in Chemical Physics.
