Paola Sotelo Promoted
The Department of Chemistry is pleased to announce that Paola Sotelo has been promoted to Associate Professor of Instruction. Sotelo received her PhD in 2019 from the University of Texas at Arlington. She joined the Department in 2019.
Hang Ren Promoted with Tenure
The Department of Chemistry is delighted to announce that Hang Ren has been promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure. Ren joined our department in 2021 and has established a dynamic research program in electrochemistry. Ren received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 2016 and was a post-doctoral scholar at the University of Utah.
Michael Rose Promoted
The Department of Chemistry is happy to announce that Michael Rose has been promoted to the rank of Full Professor. Rose leads a multi-disciplinary research program spanning from electronic materials, to coordination chemistry, and bioinorganic catalysis. He joined UT Austin's Department of Chemistry as an Assistant Professor in 2012 after obtaining a Ph.D. from UC-Davis and gaining industrial training with Roche. He is presently Director of the Bard Center for Electrochemistry (CEC).
Sean Roberts Promoted
The Department of Chemistry is pleased to announce that Sean Roberts has been promoted to the rank of Full Professor. Roberts and his group study electronic properties of molecules and materials and are leaders in singlet fission studies. He joined the Department of Chemistry as an Assistant Professor in 2013. Prior to this, he obtained a Ph.D. from MIT and was a post-doctoral scholar at the University of Southern California.
