Description
The Women in Catalysis and Synthetic Chemistry Symposium is a biennial event at the University of Texas at Austin focused on strengthening the scientific community and fostering greater gender diversity. The symposium highlights female-identifying seminar speakers from both academia and industry within the field of catalysis and synthetic chemistry along with speed talks and a poster session from undergraduate and graduate students, as well as post-doctoral fellows. In creating space for meaningful interactions between academia and industry, there is also a career panel/professional development event for students to openly converse and connect with invited chemists from various fields. Overall, this event attracts attendees from not only the University of Texas at Austin, but also from universities in the greater Texas area. We hope to promote personal and professional development for students of all genders studying chemistry through this symposium.
