Zachariah Page

Zachariah Page is an associate professor of chemistry at The University of Texas at Austin. He earned a B.S. in chemistry from Juniata College and a Ph.D. in polymer science and engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Following postdoctoral research with Craig J. Hawker at the University of California, Santa Barbara, he joined the UT Austin faculty in 2018. Page has received numerous honors, including a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, a Sloan Research Fellowship, a Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award and an NSF CAREER Award.

The Page research group uses materials chemistry to develop new capabilities for interdisciplinary applications, including 3D printing, tissue engineering, organic electronics and impact damping. Using molecular design, organic and polymer synthesis, and materials characterization, the group develops efficient visible- and near-infrared photocatalysts, bioinspired hydrogels, stretchable semiconductors and tough elastomers. The group is particularly interested in using light to control when and where reactions occur, making photochemistry a central theme of its research.
