The Brodbelt group develops and applies mass spectrometry methods to address a wide range of biological problems. The group focuses on creating innovative ion activation techniques that generate informative fragmentation patterns, improving the structural characterization of proteins, nucleic acids and lipids. Researchers in the group also develop strategies to increase the selectivity of mass spectrometry through the incorporation of chromophores and trackable mass tags, enabling targeted analysis of complex mixtures.
